Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 3 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 1¼ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 egg
  • ⅔ cup Robin Hood® Original All Purpose Flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup chopped nuts
  • Chocolate icing (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 ºF (180 ºC). Grease a 9" (2.5 L) square cake pan.
  • Melt butter and chocolate in saucepan on low heat, stirring until smoothly blended. Remove from heat and add sugar, vanilla and eggs. Beat well.
  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt in medium mixing bowl. Add to chocolate mixture, stirring until well blended. Stir in nuts.
  • Spread in prepared pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool. Frost if desired and cut into squares.
