This loaf was delicious! The only change I made was adding 1 cup of raisins which was the perfect amount, a 1/4 cup certainly would not be enough.

This bread was delicious with fresh butter. I read the comments from others on extra raisons and cinnamon. Actually doubled the recomended amount and would probably add further. I have to agree with the other comments for MORE. Anyways, the texture was bang on. February 15th/09

The Dutch people, who make the best raisin bread, have a rude joke about North American raisin bread. They say that when you buy raisin bread that's not from a Dutch baker, you get a bike with the bread. That's so you can bike from one raisin to the next. There should be at least a full cup of raisins, if not two, in this recipe, otherwise why bother?

didn't add the raisins, picky kids, but plain cinnamon bread was great! the loaf disappeared in no time

  • Cinnamon Raisin Bread

  • Imagine the appetizing aroma of spicy cinnamon, the comforting warmth of freshly baked bread, the juicy sweetness of plump raisins. Imagine the smiles on the faces of your family and friends when this one comes to the table. You'll have them leaping out of bed when you serve a first class breakfast of toasted cinnamon raisin bread with fruit preserves. Spread butter or margarine on a slice and you will certainly impress your friends and neighbours with a yummy coffee time treat. No matter what time it is, it's hard to beat the delicious taste of Cinnamon Raisin Bread.

Bake a fresh loaf whenever the mood strikes or for your convenience, bake a large batch and store some away in the freezer till next time, if it lasts till then!
