These marbled goodies look almost as good as they taste. Your kids will love the deliciously rich combination of chocolate and peanut butter.

Ingredients

1 cup 250 mL butter, softened
1 1/3 cups 325 mL sugar
1 cup 250 mL packed brown sugar
4 eggs
1/4 cup 50 mL milk
1 1/3 cups 325 mL Robin Hood® Original All Purpose Flour
1 tsp 5 mL baking powder
1/2 cup 125 mL creamy peanut butter
1 cup 250 mL peanut butter chips
1/2 cup 125 mL cocoa
1 cup 250 mL semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a 9” x 13” (23cm x 33cm) pan.
  2. Cream butter, sugars, eggs and milk together in large bowl on medium speed of electric mixer until blended. Add flour and baking powder, mixing until smooth.
  3. Divide batter in half in two medium bowls. Stir peanut butter and peanut butter chips into one half. Stir cocoa and chocolate chips into other half.
  4. Tip

Have your kids divide the batter into two bowls. Give them a wooden spoon and let them take turns stirring in the ingredients to create the peanut butter mixture and the chocolate mixture.

  5. Alternately drop, tablespoonfuls (15 mL) of each batter into prepared pan in a checkerboard pattern until the batter is used up. (About 8 spoonfuls of each).
  6. Tip

Let your kids take turns dropping in spoonfuls of batter and show them how it creates a checkerboard pattern.

  7. Swirl through batter to create a marble effect.
  8. Tip

Get your kids to swirl the batters together to create their own unique marble pattern

  9. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until set. Cool completely then cut into squares.
