Chocolate Almond Bars

The yummy combination of chocolate and almonds make these rich and chewy bars a treat you can’t resist!


1/2 cup 125 mL butter, softened
1/4 cup 50 mL granulated sugar
1/4 cup 50 mL packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp 2 mL almond extract
1 egg
2/3 cup 150 mL Robin Hood® All Purpose Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 cup 125 mL Robin Hood Oats
1 cup 250 mL chocolate chips, melted
1/2 cup 125 mL finely chopped almonds


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and line an 8” (2L) square pan with parchment paper overlapping 2 sides for easy removal.
  2. Cream butter, sugars, almond extract and egg together thoroughly.
  3. Stir in flour and oats. Mix well.
  4. Spread evenly in prepared pan.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until golden.
  6. Spread melted chocolate over base.
  7. Sprinkle evenly with chopped almonds.
  8. Cool until chocolate sets. Cut into bars.
